Vetmedin Chewable Information

Vetmedin Chewable, as its name implies, is available as chewable tablets. It is a benzimidazole-pyridazine derivative and also classified as a non-glycoside inotropic and non-sympathomimetic drug.  The drug equally has vasodilatory properties.

The drug is used in managing signs of mild, moderate, or severe congestive heart failure in dogs that is caused by dilated cardiomyopathy or atrioventricular vascular insufficiency.  It can be used with concurrent therapy for congestive heart failure.

Recommended Use

Vetmedin Chewable is a prescription drug and should only be used according to the direction of the vet doctor. The drug should only be used orally and the total daily dose should not exceed 0.23 mg/lb body weight.  The total daily dose should be divided into two and given 12 hours apart, morning and evening preferably.
