Simparica Information

Simparica is an oral drug used for preventing flea and tick infestation on pets.  It is fast-acting and can start killing the fleas and ticks within the first few hours of administering it to your dog.  What is more, it can remain active for one month before you need to administer another dosage to the pet. The drug has a dual activity in that it can treat and prevent fleas and ticks infestations.  It is effective against the following types of ticks:

The drug can start killing ticks within the first 8 hours of administration and can start killing fleas within the first 3 hours of administration. Its active ingredient is Sarolaner, which can inhibit the function of glutamate receptor and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GAMA) receptor in the neuromuscular junction in the ticks and fleas, thereby killing them.

Recommended Use

Simparica is a prescription drug and you should use it according to the direction of the vet doctor. It should only be used on dogs that are a minimum of 6 months old and a minimum weight of 2.8 lbs.
