Galliprant Information

Galliprant is an NSAID used for reducing the pains associated with osteoarthritis in dogs.  It can also help reduce the associated inflammation. The drug is chewable and this makes it a lot easier to administer. Galliprant should only be administered to dogs 9 months of age or older. There is no study yet about the effect of the drug on dogs younger than 9 months old. So, you should avoid administering the drug to such dogs.  The minimum acceptable weight of the dog is 8 pounds.  You should not give the drug to the dog except if it is approved by the vet doctor and the vet doctor must be carried along every step of the way while the drug is being administered to your dog.

Recommended Use

Galliprant is a prescription drug and should be used only according to the vet doctor’s prescription. The usual dosage is 2mg/kg body weight and it should be ad sintered daily.  It should only be given to dogs up to or older than 9 months old and not to younger dogs.  The drug is given orally and should be chewed by the dog. If your pet does not like chewing, you can cut it into pieces and give it to the dog to swallow each piece.

Side Effects
