Ciprodex is a medicine for treating ear infections. The infections it can be used to treat include otitis externa and otitis media. It can also be prescribed for any other reason the doctor wants.

How To Use

Use your Ciprodex the way your doctor prescribes it. Don’t take it by your mouth as this is for ear use only. Prior to using this medication, shake it well. If necessary, warm it in your hand for about two minutes. This is because using cold ear drops can cause dizziness particularly in kids who use ear tubes.

To put the ear drops in a child’s ear, have them lie down or tilt their head to one side. This will mean that the ear is facing up. Open the ear canal by pulling the ear back or down slightly. Invert the dropper above the ear and squeeze out the number of drops recommended by the doctor. Maintain a lying position or a tilted head position for one minute.
