Directions

How to use Breo Ellipta?

  • You will administer the medication at the same time every day. Do not shake the inhaler.
  • Open and prepare the mouthpiece when ready to use. You will slide down the cover to activate the first dose. You should hear a “click”. The counter will count down by 1 number.
  • Exhale fully away from the inhaler (not into it), then take one deep breath through your mouth without blocking any air vents, holding your breath for ~3 to 4 seconds, or as long as you comfortably can. Opening and closing the cover without inhaling the medication will result in a lost dose of medication. The lost dose will be held in the inhaler and will not be able to be inhaled. It is not possible to take double or extra doses in one inhalation.
  • After administration of the medication, rinse your mouth with water after use and spit out the water (do not swallow).
  • To clean your inhaler, use a dry tissue before the cover is closed, if necessary. Routine cleaning of your inhaler isn’t required.
  • Discard your inhaler after 6 weeks from opening the foil tray or when the counter reads “0”. The device is not reusable.
