Alrex Information

Alrex is a prescription-only medicine for treating eye inflammation. It is normally prescribed when eye inflammation is caused by herpes zoster, acne, allergies, iritis, or a related disease.

How To Use

If you want to use Alrex successfully, follow every instruction given by the doctor. Don’t make your own dosing rules. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove then prior to application. This is to keep them from getting stained by a preservative in this medication. Apply your medicine and re-insert your soft lenses after 15 minutes. Prior to applying it, wash your hands thoroughly to avoid contaminating the dropper tip.

To apply, tilt the head back slightly. Pull the lower eyelid down until a small pocket appears. Looking up and away, squeeze the bottle to release one drop into the tiny gap. Close the eye for about a minute while pressing the corner of the eye with a finger. Repeat the same with the other eye.

If using for more than ten days, your doctor will have you do regular vision tests. Don’t stop using your medicine even if your eyes are no longer irritated. Only the doctor can discontinue use.
