Accuneb or albuterol is a prescription medicine for treating asthma and COPD.

This medication is best used to prevent a bronchospasm that can be triggered by emphysema, bronchitis, asthma, another lung disease or exercise. Belonging to a group of medicines called adrenergic bronchodilators, albuterol is an inhaled medicine.

It should be inhaled through the mouth to clear the bronchial tubes in the lungs. Accuneb can relieve coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and related symptoms.

How To Use

Each patient will receive a unique prescription. So it is necessary to follow the doctor’s prescription or whatever is written on the prescription label.

It comes in different forms too. So if you are using an inhaler, two puffs every four to six hours are okay. This is the right dose for adults and kids above four years old.

If being used to prevent a bronchospasm triggered by exercise, Accuneb should be inhaled twice every fifteen to thirty minutes. An inhaler in a powder form should be inhaled every four to six hours to stop or treat bronchospasms.

For an exercise-induced bronchospasm, take two puffs every fifteen to thirty minutes.

When used as an inhalation solution or nebulizer, then take 2.5mg three to four times a day. That’s if you are an adult or a child who is aged twelve years or beyond.

Kids who are not older than 12 years and not below two years of age should take 0.63mg to 1.25mg three to four times a day.

Accuneb Side Effects

Accuneb can cause the following side effects:

• Irregular, racing, or pounding heartbeats
• Shaky legs, feet or hands
• Trembling of your hands or feet

Precautions
