Androcur Information

Androcur is also promoted as cyproterone. It is a cure for prostate gland cancer. Thus, Androcur is meant only for males. It works by blocking the effect of a male sex hormone called testosterone. Once blocked, the levels of this hormone are reduced. This helps to slow down the rate at which prostate cancer develops. Androcur is sold as an oral tablet or an injection.

How To Use

There is no standard dose for everyone. The perfect dose for you will be picked based on the severity of your prostate cancer. The usual dose for treating prostate cancer, however, is 100 to 200mg. This includes taking two to four tablets two to three times a day.

This medication should always be taken after having a meal.  If given as an injection, a dosage of 300mg will be deposited into the muscle once a week.
