What is it used for? 

It is used for the treatment of active, mild to moderate, ulcerative colitis.

It works through anti-inflammatory actions, such as inhibition of inflammatory mediator release and inhibition of cytokine-mediated immune responses

Take Uceris (Budesonide) as directed by your physician.  It may be taken with or without food

Uceris (Budesonide) is available as a brand name 9mg extended-release tablet. 

What is the recommended dosage?

Generally, it is dosed as 9mg once daily in the morning for up to 8 weeks for induction of remission but take as directed by your doctor.

What is the maximum dosage?

The maximum recommended dosage is 9mg/day.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember, if it is relatively close to your next dose wait till then and take a normal dose. Do not take an extra dose to make up for the missed dose.

  • Avoid drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruits while taking this medication as it can increase the amount of Uceris (Budesonide) in your blood.
